Monaco Made Easy

Privacy policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

Monaco Made Easy helps visitors get around Monaco, Beausoleil, Cap d’Ail and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin using the free public lifts, escalators and walkways. It is run by Nick Hutton, trading as Made Easy City Guides, 27 Old Gloucester Street, Holborn, London WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. This page explains what information the app uses and where it goes. In short: we don’t ask you to sign up, we don’t know who you are, and we don’t sell or share your information.

Your location

If you allow it, the app uses your phone’s location to show where you are on the map, sort lifts by distance and plan routes from where you are. Routes are worked out on your phone. Your location is not sent to us and is not stored by us.

If you use “Meet me here”, the app creates a link containing your location (and the name you type, if any) and hands it to your phone’s share menu. It only goes to the people you choose to send it to.

What stays on your phone

The app saves a few settings on your phone so it works the way you left it: your language, your Pro unlock code (if you buy Pro), where you’re staying (if you save it), cruise mode times, the wheelchair or pushchair setting, lift reports you’ve made and the saved offline map. You can remove them at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it.

Lift reports

If you report that a lift or escalator isn’t working, the app sends which lift it is, the problem you chose and the time. Nothing else is sent: no name, account, location or device details. Reports are shown to other visitors for two days. They are stored by our database provider, Supabase.

Buying Pro

If you buy Monaco Made Easy Pro, the payment is handled by Stripe, who receive your card details and email address to take the payment and send your receipt. We don’t see your card details. Stripe tells us the payment went through, and we use that to give you an unlock code. If you ask us to find your purchase by email, the app sends that email address to us once, to look up the payment with Stripe; we don’t keep it. The unlock code is stored on your phone.

If you buy Pro in the Android app from Google Play, Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We don’t receive your name, email address or card details. Google gives the app a purchase reference, which the app sends to our server once so we can check with Google that the purchase is genuine and confirm it, as Google requires. We use it to give you an unlock code and don’t keep it.

Searching for places

When you type in the search box (for example a hotel name or an address), what you type is sent to a place-search service to find matches in Monaco, Beausoleil, Cap d’Ail and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. It is not linked to you.

Counting visits

We count how the app is used with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you. It tells us things like how many people opened the app, roughly which country they were in, which kind of device they used, and which features they used, for example that a route was planned or a hotel’s QR card was scanned. It never records where you are, who you are or what you typed.

Services the app uses

Like any website, the services that deliver the app and its maps receive your phone’s internet address and basic technical details when they send you something. They use them only to deliver that content and keep their services running.

What we don’t do

Children

The app is for general travel use and doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights and contact

Because we don’t hold information that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to show, correct or delete. If you have a question or a concern, email hello@monacomadeeasy.com.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
